Since we first caught them live in 1994,
earwax have been big fans of the Bluetones with songs like 'Bluetonic' and
'Are You Blue...' providing the soundtrack to our drunken teenage years. So it was a bit of
a treat to find out that the band's lead singer, Mark Morriss was going to
be coming down to New Cross to perform a special session for earwax radio.
The set was fantastic and was well received
by the lucky few who were present (including a selection of shocked
Bluetones' fans who were initially skeptical that Mark would be playing a
free gig in a pub in New Cross on a Sunday afternoon).
If you haven't
heard his solo material, be ready for something special - his debut album
is one of our favourite albums of the year and the session recording gives
you a taster of what the britpop legend still has to offer.
