Most
times when we record an earwax session the artist resides in south east
London. Heath though lives slightly
further a field. The Echo Park, California resident was in the country on
a UK tour promoting his debut album Fache
Brut: the Further Adventures of Spondoolix and Spizzerinctum.
We
first stumbled across Heath at the first Rockland’s party, playing a set
on the roof of the music complex in Deptford. The day was sunny, the beer
was flowing and the bbq was tasty and there appeared to be a punk rock
Willie Nelson on stage. The
set was great and we invited Heath to play at the first Earwax Sunday
Session a few weeks later.
In-between
the Rockland’s party and the session Heath must have played every venue
in south east London and a healthy crowd of converts came to see the
recording of the Heath session at the New Cross Inn who were all chanting
his name in a south London style.
