Wax
Music is brought to you by co-founders Andy Pettman and Jamie Izzard along
with the people of Rocklands. Andy and Jamie have
been promoting indie club nights and live music since the mid nineties, most
notably as Earwax. Earwax started life as a radio show hosted by
Jamie Izzard and Fiona De Souza on East London station Ear FM.
Earwax went on to host club nights and live music events across the
Southeast including a residency at the infamous Paradise Bar in Deptford.
Earwax also hosted the indie arena at the Bugjam festival in 2001
which saw over 2,000 people going mental to a legendary DJ set from the
Earwax boys.
In
2002 Earwax launched a live music showcase at the Amersham Arms which was
cut short when Jamie moved to Ibiza. After
a season DJing on the white isle, Jamie returned to the UK and Andy and Jamie set
up wax-music.com. The World Wide Wax show was also launched on WWFM, a weekly radio
show of electonica, showcasing a variety of DJs and genres of dance. When
WWFM closed down in 2004, Andy and Jamie became involved in a new
Community radio station in Southeast London called TGR Sound and
re-launched the Earwax radio show. The show went from strength to strength
and after the successful launch of Earwax Radio as a podcast and a brief
stint hosting a brand new FM show called The Alternative, Andy and Jamie
waved goodbye to TGR Sound to launch Earwax Radio as an independent
podcasting radio show.
With
fans across the globe, the Earwax Radio Show is now the place to hear the
new alternative stars of the underground and features live sessions,
interviews and broadcasts special events from across Rocklands. In 2008
the show moves to fortnightly broadcasts uploaded on the 1st and 15th of
every month. Click here
