The Walpole, New Cross
18/08/05

Tonight's proceedings have been organised by Joyzine and the line up features some of Wax Music's favourite bands. The fact the event is taking place in a smallish bar in New Cross adds a slightly obscure edge to the evening and when the Wax Music crew arrive, the Walpole is still full of dining couples and coked-up bar flies. They soon depart though, as the delayed sound check gets underway as the indie kids start to arrive. First up are the Black Tulips who appear to be a bit more Goth than had been expected after listeneing to an array of tracks on their website. Despite the fact that there is no stage in the bar and therefore only the front two rows can actually see the band, the Tulips are on top form and strorm through a full on set of aggressive rock
