The
Se-Az |
|
‘The Se-Az’ are an underground
collective excelling now in ‘Rebel
Consciousness’ vibes. With a nihilistic approach to their art, the
band has begun playing live again after a year’s absence. The collective
retain a rather enigmatic reputation, rebuking mainstream conventions and
dogmatic ideologies, and preferring instead to shout loud the truth as
they see it, thereby side-stepping the mundane and inherently
‘commercial’…

Currently working as a three piece,
the band line up as Kid C (vox/ guitar), Cush Chaldi (drums) and Rope
Vinty (bass). They initially met as detainees in a Nicaraguan labour camp-
and having helped each other escape, their paths crossed again three years
later whilst they were living rough on Deptford’s mean streets.
Determined to reclaim their generations lost dignity, rid the world of
evil and clean up the streets- they have day jobs as road-sweepers. The
band is bonded together by a mutual respect for Jean Guehenno, Mikhail
Bakunin and vegans. Sure to be going nowhere very soon.
